It is highly recommended that a survey is completed before entering into any contract to purchase a property. A survey is like a ‘health check’ for a property and highlights any serious problems (e.g. damp), which can often lead to a re-negotiation of the sale price of the property (to reflect the cost of necessary repairs). You may even decide you don’t want to buy the property at all.
